Spain - Covid testing requirements

My husband and I are flying into Madrid the end of this month. We are completely vaccinated. I hear conflicting answers to what we will need to enter Spain? 1) QR code - if so what is a reliable website to complete this form. 2) PCR test - taken how close to departure time? 3). Covid Viral test - taken how close to departure time. 4) at home test? will this suffice? Finally, I also noticed that when you get to Madrid's airport you either take an orange or blue path in the airport?? I am confused!

I got the following on the Spain website for a family member:

"QR SPTH . If you do not have the EU Digital COVID Certificate or EU equivalent, you must fill in the SPTH Health Control Form manually* - SEE LINK AT BOTTOM - entering the data of your vaccination … The system will send you a QR code that you will have to present both prior boarding, and upon your arrival in Spain. In the health control, you may be required to present this document certifying vaccination, diagnostic test or recovery.
Upon arrival at the airport follow the signals indicating the BLUE WAY

To complete the Health Control Form, you need to have the following at hand:
Identity document number (passport, ID, etc.)
Information about your international mode of transport (arrival date, flight number and airline)
Information about your stay in Spain (city/town and Autonomous Community) ← FOR THIS, IT’S OK TO WRITE THE FIRST PLACE YOU WILL STAY
Email address and phone number.
The certificate/certifying document (vaccination/recovery/diagnostic test) that you will show at the health controls

I knew about the website but we are flying OUT of Spain. We are on the Basque Tour and nothing has been mentioned about filling this out. We arrive to Bordeaux 2 days prior to the tour and I know about filling out the patient Locator form for France....but this wasn't mentioned in the tour packet either and the tour actually starts in France. It makes me think maybe the RS folks will talk about this during our group meeting but by then everyone will have already entered France :)

kathy, the procedures outlined are for passengers arriving by air, not land.

barneyprobst, you just need to complete the Spain Travel Health entry form, which will generate the QR code you need for arrival, as per Jessica's post. We arrived in Madrid in December, same process in place, and it was all very easy. Don't worry about which path to take in the airport; staff will direct you (in your jet-lagged fog) to where you need to be. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and keep all those documents handy -- you will need to show the QR code, your passport, and your vax card at a couple of different checkpoints along the way.

Enjoy your trip!
