I need some help planning my trip with 2 kids age 6 and 11 to Spain for approximately a month. Looking for family friendly locations to enjoy the beach and relax with the family and to travel short distance to explore other beaches.

So semi-private beach: Playa del Canuelo, Nerja. There is an Airbnb there that sleeps about 11 persons called Cuartel El Velero. If your staying there you can drive down, if not you must walk down (or take a bus in season). There are two beaches with the same name but this one is near Almeria. Two restaurants on the beach both good picks. The Airbnb has a swing set for kids too. J

I visited Costa Del Sol many years ago with my family and was very disappointed with the beaches there.
I live in South Georgia near beaches in Georgia and Florida. Found our beaches much better.
I can't say that there aren't nice beaches in Spain, just not Costa del Sol.
