Spain and Fall (September) Farmer's Markets

Second trip to Spain. I want to focus on Madrid and then head to the Pyrenees or Green Spain. I'll probably spend 5ish days in Madrid, see Segovia, and then I'm open. I land in Madrid on September 5 and leave from Madrid (likely changeable or I can reposition if necessary) on September 22. Single guy, traveling solo, love the outdoors and have a background in Urban Gardening, Farmer's Markets, etc. I'd love to experience Spain during what I'm guessing in harvest season (I'm writing from Texas, and we're done by June).

I can rent a car. I welcome route suggestions that feature a combination of seasonal produce, farmer's markets, natural wonders, etc.

I'd look at Vic, an ancient city that's been the capital of agriculture in the Catalonia region since antiquity. On Tuesday and Saturday of every week they have a nice farmers' market day on the Placa Major dating back to the 9th century.

Vic is also known for it's amazing charcuterie especially Fuet sausages. You can stop by Xarcuteria Solà S.c.p in the center of town to pick up some delicatessen supplies for sandwiches.

The town itself is very old and has a perfectly preserved ancient Roman Temple as well as the unique Vic Cathedral, a mix of Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassic styles.

The best part Vic is virtually unknown to foreign tourists despite being close to Barcelona.
