Spain - 11 days in November

Hi. I will be visiting Spain in November. This is a rough city itinerary for my trip. People are tell me it looks like too much but I do like moving around on my trips.

If I remove one of either Cordoba, Toledo, or Segovia which one should I skip? Which one would you recommend for an overnight stay?

Im mostly interested in museums, historic sites, and food. Im usually out early in the morning walking around instead of staying out late.

Day 1 - arrive in Seville early afternoon
Day 2 - Seville
Day 3 - Seville
Day 4 - Cordoba?
Day 5 - early morning teian to Granada
Day 6 - Granada
Day 7 - early mornong train to Madrid
Day 8 - Toledo?
Day 9 - Madrid
Day 10 - Segovia?
Day 11 Madrid
Day 12 - depart

Thank you

Looks good to me.

I think the best for an overnight stay would be Cordoba, especially since Toledo and Segovia really lend themselves to efficient Madrid day trips. When you're in Cordoba in the evening you get the Roman bridge lit up which is pretty.

The itinerary actually looks like a nice pace to me. There are 3 nights in Seville which is fine. You could stay a fourth night and see Cordoba as a daytrip as it’s just 45 minutes away from Seville by high-speed train. Alternatively, you could overnight in Cordoba before going on to Granada. If you stay in the Barrio Santa Cruz neighborhood in Seville, you’ll be close to most of Seville’s attractions and about one mile from Seville’s Santa Justa train station.

Two nights in Granada. If you’re visiting the Alhambra, be sure to book your admission entry as soon as possible as it does sell out.

With five nights in Madrid, you could easily visit both Toledo ( 35 minutes away by train from the Atocha station) and Segovia ( 28 minutes away by high-speed train from Madrid’s Chamartin Clara-Campoamor train station). Madrid’s Chamartin train station is on the north side of the city and can be quickly reached on the Cercanias commuter train line.

The National Archaeological Museum in Madrid is awesome as is the reassembled Egyptian Temple of Debod near the Royal Palace.

If you stayed two nights in Cordoba, that would eliminate having a one-nighter which some find to be too rushed.

Have a great trip!

Looks good, but if you are wanting to do all the museums and the palace, probably not enough time in Madrid. You can always day trip to one or the other of Segovia or Toledo, my preference would be to stay the night in Toledo, daytrip to Segovia (I have stayed the night in both on different trips)

Personal preference, but if I had to skip one town it would be Segovia. Each Córdoba, Toledo, and Segovia deserve an overnight. So again, it’s a personal preference. I’ve never visited them as day trips; every time at least an overnight or two since I always get a rental car.

By the end of the trip you may not want to do two day trips in three days. You can make a decision on which to skip (Toledo or Segovia) if needed, once you’re there. You should enjoy whichever town you decide to visit.

If it were me, I would add a night to Seville (so total 4), definitely stay a night in Cordoba, 2 nights in Granada, and 4 nights in Madrid with daytrips to Segovia and Toledo or, alternately, fewer nights in Madrid with overnights in Segovia (recommend) and/or Toledo.

Looks like a great trip!

My partner and I spent 11 nights in that area of Spain in Sep 2023. I agree with the comments about spending a night in Cordoba: the Roman Bridge at night is pretty. The following itinerary worked well for us: Seville (3 nights), Ronda (2), Granada (2), Cordoba (1), Madrid (3). I might be biased since I lived there, but I’d definitely say spend more time in Madrid—there’s so much to see, do, and eat that a couple of days never feels like enough! For your day trips, I’d pick either Segovia or Toledo, not both, as the others have said. Buen Viaje!
