We have 11 days to spend in Southern Spain and are looking for advice on how to split up our time.
Places we would like to see: Sevilla, Cordoba, White hill towns, Gibraltor, Granada and possibly Toledo. We are most interested in experiencing the culture, food & wine, scenery, not big on museums. We are flying out of Barcelona and have flexibility. Should we try to see Madrid? and any suggestions for transportation also appreciated, we are thinking bus or train rather than driving.
Thank you in advance!
Looks like you're heading for serious fun! Check out Rick Steves suggested Itinerary of Spain: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/spain/itinerary
Of course, you'll want to adapt it to fit your needs, pace and likes. The high speed train network is a delight in Spain. Some locations may be better reached by bus or car. This forum has some real Spain experts who may suggest overlooked and less touristy spots as well. They and this forum can be a great resource.
Happy travels!
What time of year? It can be hot late spring, summer and early fall. We were there in November, and the white hill towns, except for Ronda, were very quiet. We enjoyed them, regardless, but some might miss activity. I would say you'd have to pick between Gibraltor and Toledo. Toledo is incredible with so much history and incredibly picturesque. Can you fly out of Madrid? Then maybe you'd have a bit of time there. Are you excluding your travel days from the 11?
