Southern Spain and Majorca

Hi. My husband and I are going to Spain for a friend's bday party in June. I have been to Southern Spain before, but my husband hasn't. We have both been to Madrid and Barcelona though several times together. What do you think about this itinerary? The only definites are the time at the bday party. Thanks.

This is just a personal preference, but I would want to save Mallorca for when I'd have more time.
I know I could find something in Andalucia to do instead and avoid that travel time, but what you have laid out is "doable" as they say!

I think this is very doable and in logical progression. You are dedicating several days and nights to each base stop. The thing that I would personally reconsider is the daytrip to Córdoba with a return to Sevilla and then the next day return in that same direction to Granada. I would just travel to Córdoba as planned on June 13 and sleep there that night and proceed directly from there on the 14th to Granada without having to backtrack to Sevilla.

Thanks for the responses. I have been to southern Spain before, but it was many years ago. If we forgo Mallorca, where on the beach would you go? I have always wanted to go to Mallorca so I thought that would be a nice place to spend a few days after all the touring and our friend's birthday party.

Thanks.

If you've always wanted to go to Mallorca then go. If you only have three days to spend there then you can still get a taste of the island in that time. Mallorca is a real favourite of mine and I will always encourage people who have the opportunity to visit to do so.

For Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba, are there any things I must get advance tix for except for Alhambra in Granada and the Cathedral in Sevilla? Thanks.

Hi. We are taking a day trip to Cordoba while we stay in Seville. I have already booked the hotels and my husband like to minimize the number of places we stay. Do I need to get tix ahead of time for the Mezquita in Cordoba? I prefer not to since I don't know exactly what time we will arrive (def early), but I don't want to miss it either.

Thanks.

I don’t know what it will be like next month, but we were just in Cordoba last week and walked right up to the ticket counter. There was nobody in line and we were able to walk right in the Mezquita. It was fabulous. Make sure to walk across the Roman Bridge, especially in the evening to see it lit up.

Thanks. My husband has never been to this part of Spain, so I am looking forward to sharing this magical place with him.
