Solo girl travelling Spain in winter

I have three weeks in Spain during February 2019. I’ll be travelling solo. I’m an Aussie girl, and just love adventuring! I will be backpacking :)
I’ve generally viewed Spain as a more summer destination for myself and my personally interests. Although i just need to go as soon as possible, and I’ll already be in Europe throughout the winter time!
My interests include
- hiking (solo traveller hikes, so not necessarily too far out, and can be done during day light)
- partying (Ibiza would be amazing, but aware it closes down during winter :( )
- beaches
- city walks
- free museums and galleries
- animals and a lot of nature
- looveeee food!
- cool buildings and cultural heretiage sites

I want to go watch a Real Madrid soccer (football) game while I’m there, (hopefully a home game while I’m in Madrid)
I was thinking of visiting Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga and head over to Morocco for 2 days.
Is there any way of doing a day trip to Portugual from any of these places that would be worth the time?

Does anyone have any lovely advice they could share about this beautiful country? Also any advice on awesome social hostels would be great
Thanks!

Real Madrid's schedule for the upcoming season has unfortunately not been released yet. There is no official release date, but it should be within the next few weeks.

As long as you are flexible with when you can go to Madrid, you shouldn't have a problem catching a match there. They usually play a good chunk of matches in February.

I also know Portugal is pretty difficult to get to from almost anywhere in Spain. It's certainly too far for a day trip. If you really want to go to Portugal, I would recommend setting aside a few days and flying into Lisbon, though it may be better to simply wait for a separate trip.

If you like architecture, I would definitely recommend, at the very least, Barcelona, Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla. Madrid is a little more modern than any of those cities, but also has some really great architecture.

Tangier is a frequently debated topic on this forum. A lot of people says it's not worth the time-consuming diversion. I have also heard that solo women in particular are frequently harassed by the city's many shopkeepers and vendors.

Thanks for the great information!
Do you think Spain is safe for women to travel alone?

Lots of single young women travel to Spain alone and are fine. Just take the same precautions as you would at home. It can be difficult to get tickets to a big league match like Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, there are less popular teams that will have tickets available-Spaniards are mad/crazy about football in any city.

Not so sure about Morocco alone.

No problems traveling alone in Spain as long as you take the same precautions you'd take when traveling alone in the US (I haven't been to Australia). I don't think Morocco would be unsafe, either, but it could be quite uncomfortable if it is still the case that local women just do not travel unescorted, which was pretty much the situation when I was there in the early 1990s. Consult a recent guidebook.
