My kids are soccer fanatics, and we will be in Barcelona for 3 days in late June. It looks like FC Barcelona will not be playing at that time, but are there any other local games of other teams that we might be able to see?
The soccer season will be over in late June. However, there are tours of the stadium, Camp Nou, that your kids would probably love to see. If you go, be warned that it is located a ways out of the city center. We had planned to buy a quick breakfast at a nearby cafe, but discovered nothing opened nearby. Once inside the complex, there were many choices for food. We took the subway from L'Example.
Great, thanks for that info!
My kids LOVED the Camp Nou Experience tour! And we dropped a pretty penny in the gift shop as well!
Camp Nou's museum/experience is well worth a visit even if the team is in their off-season. You can keep your eye on FC Barcelona or Espanyol's websites as they sometimes have exhibition games during the summer (these are usually players on the B squad). Barcelona is one of the cities that I think the hop-on hop-off buses are well worth the investment and most the companies drive out to Camp Nou too.
Good to know about the busses, thanks for the replies everyone!
RCD Espanyol is another La Liga team from Barcelona, but as others have noted the La Liga season will be over in late June, so your options might be limited to the Camp Nou tour.
Barcelona and a bunch of other top Euro teams will be touring the US in July:
