This question is really for the ladies. We are planning to visit the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and have tickets to see the Tower as well. I have been researching and evidently the climb back down the stairs is somewhat of a feat. Not sure how strenuous this climb is, but I have had an ACL reconstruction and torn meniscus in my right knee. Currently active, playing pickleball, walking without any issues and we plan to do the tower. I was planning to wear a long maxi dress to this tour, but considering the stairs, do you think I could possibly wear skirted leggings with my tennis shoes? I understand the concept of being covered, and the leggings would meet the criteria and the skirt is attached for convenience. Would this be a huge problem? They look like this and I would pair with a conservative collared top. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

When we were at Sagrada Familia in October 2022 there were women in short shorts and tank tops, and plenty in mini dresses with spaghetti straps. Wear whatever will make you feel most comfortable walking down the stairs.
We were also there in October 2022 and no one checked any for modesty. It isn’t like in Italy.
Well, there are clearly posted dress codes on the internet, but answers seem to indicate it isn't well enforced. If I recall, there is a portion separated for actual church service where a dress code is expected.
Nevertheless, as you know there is a code, a plan to dress modestly is never amiss.
The Sagrada Familia has more of a Disneyland vibe as opposed to a seriously religious site. Wear whatever you want.
It will be safer for you not to wear a long dress to go downstairs.
You don’t want to trip on it!
Those stairs are long, in a spiral.

So glad someone else feels like this. I thought it was "Jesus, Las Vegas".
Please go to a ten story building and take the elevator to the top and then walk down the stairs to determine the capability of your knee enduring this activity. The stairs are narrow and in a tight continuous spiral. While there are several places you can reach to rest it is difficult for two people to pass each other. Consider the impact on the remainder of your journey if the stairs adversely impact your knees. Please view the YT link to gain a perspective of what you will encounter.
Hey Steven, Thank you so much for posting the informative video. My husband just took about a 3 minute look and said, "nah, we don't have to do that" Lol, I appreciate you sharing this info!
