How hard is it to get to Sitges from Barcelona? Train? Bus? What’s the best way to get there? What is there to see and do in Sitges ? Thinking about spending a day at the beach.
Easy commuter train from Barcelona to Sitges.
You can take an inexpensive “Rodalies” commuter train in less than one hour to Sitges from the underground train station at Passeig de Gracia near Gaudi’s Cass Mila and Casa Battlo. It’s much less congested than the Barcelona Sants train station. Sitges, with a population of 30K, has a charming historic old city center and a nice beach promenade bordering its nice beaches.
Thank you! We are staying very close to that station in the Gothic Quarter. Do we just buy ticket at the station? Which train line goes to Sitges? Is it a direct line?
You can just buy a Rodalies train ticket ( about€5) from the machines or the Rodalies ticket counter at the Passeig de Gracia station. The station is underground so look for the escalators/elevators on the street level. Trains run every 20 minutes and take 45 minutes to reach Sitges.
Have fun!
Thank you. I found their website with train schedules.
