i have a priorityclub card from citi prestige .
I am arriving on United from Dulles at 745 am and need to wait 3 hours for my sister arriving from jfk on delta. My question is can i access the VIP miro lounge upon arrival? before going thru customs and luggage? Everything i read is about using the lounge before departures.

Miro seems to be airside, so shouldn't need to leave security. A review of the airport map should comfirm.

What are the odds there would still be luggage if it is not collected in the hour after arrival? I wouldn't want my bags essentially abandoned and have confidence I'd end up with them again. Most airports don't allow access to airside lounges, stores etc before being herded through immigration and baggage/customs. You don't have the option of just hanging around before immigration. I don't think you can get to the lounges once you have been processed for entry as they are airside and you have to have a ticket and go through security to get there..

There are showers past immigration according to the Miro Lounge web site.
I have not been in an airport that allows arriving international passengers to stay airside unless they are connecting to another flight. And even then the specific areas you may enter are restricted and may not have access to the international departure lounges which have showers.
Also, luggage left will not be allowed to circle the carousel for hours. It will be collected and the claim process can be difficult.
Unfortunately, the Barcelona airport web site doesn't give much detail.

I'm not sure why, as your sister will similarly not be allowed to stay airside upon arrival. Just as you will, she'll have to go through immigration, luggage pickup, and customs, and won't be allowed to linger. Unless the two or you happened to arrive at a very close time together, and were in the same part of the airport, you wouldn't be able to meet each other airside - shower or no shower.

Thanks to all...the What a drag comment referred to waiting 3 hours for my sisters plane to get here!!!
There is no miro lounge landside but the miro lounge people were extremely patient and helpful as they told me i can reserve shower in business center ( after passport control etc)...for a fee...so this 70+ Body will indeed opt for that comfort !
