Seville to Jerez and CAdiz as day trip

Hi I wish to know whether a day trip to Jerez and Cadiz could be made from Seville.

We are interested in horse show at noon at Jerez and then head towards Cadiz mainly for 1 or two beaches .
1) Any suggestion on which one is nearer to Cadiz railway station?
2) Is the entire trip doable in a day considering these are the places we want to visit?
3) Our travel date is April end (around 26th April). Should i pre-book the train ticket from Seville?

I think it's doable. Take a taxi from the horse show to the train station. Also get to the horse show an hour or two early. There may be a line to pick up tickets (buy in advance, they sell out). There's a nice campus to see and I believe you can see the horses in the paddock before the show begins. The historic center of Cadiz (and the TI) are a short walk from the train station. The beach is walking distance from there, but in April, expect the Atlantic to be cold.

Hi thanks for your reply.
What is the name of the beach which is near to Cadiz train station? I think there must be many beaches and hence knowing the name always help.
Also is there any bus from Jerez railway station to horse show as taxi might be expensive.

nitinjain, definitely doable but a long day. We planned to do this yesterday so had all the logistics but changed plans due to rain. Leave Seville on an 8:30 MD train (@ 1hr) which was the latest departure that would get us to Jerez in time to pick up tickets by the required 11:00. You can catch this from either Santa Justa or San Bernardo but SB was closer for us. We were staying in the Santa Cruz area and took the tram down to San Bernardo.

We took a taxi to the horse show - about 5€. It's walkable (a bit over a mile) but would not advise doing it without help from our friend offline Google maps. Horse show ends about 1:30. Taxi back to station for the 2:05 or 2:38 Cercanius train Jerez - Cadiz (45 min).

Last MD train Cadiz - Seville 8:40pm (7:40 before that). Since we only went to Jerez but ended up skipping Cadiz (it was raining), can't help with beaches. This is mid- March but we got our Seville-Jerez tickets when we got to the station. No problem and gave us flexibility. And they do include a seat reservation. Jerez - Cadiz would be a Cercanius, so probably wouldn't. Hated to miss Cadiz - probably will not be back but didn't think seeing it in the rain and cold would be much fun.

The horse show in Jerez is great. The visit of the campus as well. So as someone mentionned above, make sure to have enough time to enjoy this place.
As far is Cadiz, It didn't struck us much. Nice place but no wow for us. When you either just visited Sevilla, Cordoba or Granada, it's tough to match I think. But we are no beach fan so that might be the problem.
Enjoy this great part of the world. :-)
