Seville to Jerez

I'm less than 60 days out and Renfe is still not showing reasonably timed, available tickets from Seville to Jerez, round trip. Only ones available are in the evening. I've been checking for months. Any insight?

Hmmm, I see a 10:48 departure through May 29 on the Renfe app, but not yet any schedules after that.

Edit: Are you looking for,Jerez de la Frontera?

I see three trains a day. Ensure you specify Sevilla-Santa Justa as your departure station. Also, ensure you put Jerez de la Frontera and not Jerez aeropuerto. The airport is about 15 minutes from the downtown area.

I've been using Trainline. The times show, but the times I need say, "Not available to buy."

I tried Renfe. The times that I need are there for the departure and show to be available for the return, but when I move through the purchase, the needed return times disappear.

No idea what’s happening with Trainline. On the Renfe website I selected 24 May and had no problem picking a train going to and from Sevilla. Leaving Sevilla on the 10:48 train would get you into Jerez at 11:38. A problem as I see it is if you are returning the same day. If so, the last train listed departs Jerez at 14:38, leaving you only three hours to see the town. If returning the following day there are 2 morning trains and one afternoon train. I didn’t see any late afternoon or early evening trains back to Sevilla.

Renee is slow to post schedules. You might be looking too early.

Could I recommend traveling from Seville San Bernardo station to Jerez rather than Santa Justa? When I was there last month, I had much better selection of trains from San Bernardo than Santa Justa to Jerez. Plus it’s much easier to get to from central Seville. San Bernardo is the last stop on the tram line so like four stops from the cathedral.

I hope you’re traveling there to see the Royal School of Equestrian Arts in addition to the sherry bodegas. It’s exceptional.

I am seeing the same. The only return trips are early afternoon leaving only 3 or so hours there. Should I go ahead and buy the tickets to the horse show and hope I can get there and back?

@hectorm2108 - It doesn’t appear you can buy them in advance. The Alcázar de Jerez doesn’t compare to the one in Sevilla or Córdoba and isn’t overly impressive. If visiting it, an hour should be sufficient. It isn’t a main draw to the town and I doubt there will be a line to get in.

Consider a new post listing all your questions rather than jumping into multiple other threads that are not necessarily related to your questions. You’ll probably get more responses. Most of your questions are easily answered with an internet search.
