Seville to Alicante by train via Madrid

Hi, I booked a journey from Seville to Alicante via Madrid using Renfe train website and only after I booked the tickets (non-refundable) I realized the the two stations in Madrid have different names. The train from Seville to Madrid arrives at MADRID P.ATOCHA station and after 1 hour 15 mins the next journey from Madrid to Alicante starts from MADRID-CHAMART station. How do I travel between these two stations? Is the time (1hour and 15 mins) sufficient as I will have some luggage and a kid with me. Thanks a lot in advance and I need some answers asap

There are trains on the Cercanias that connect the two, that would be the most direct, and fastest, but they run a bit more infrequent.

The Metro runs more frequently, but requires a change, and a short walk to get from the Metro station to the Train station.

Anything under an hour is a problem, two would be safe. Between 1 and 2 hours? Doable, but the less time, the more on the ball you need to be.

A taxi is rarely a quicker option in a city. You don't mention what time of the day you are planning this trip, but there is always the risk that the taxi will be stuck in traffic.

Cercanias should be fine. Service on any given line may not be super frequent, but there are many lines connecting the two stations, and you can just take whichever comes first.

Furthermore, it’s free. A free cercanias ride is included with every Long Distance or High Speed train ticket. (You’ll have to redeem at a ticket machine in Atocha station.)
