Seville's Real Alcazar during free hour, has anyone been? Mid-Nov

Rick doesn't recommend going to the Alcazar during the free entry time, due to waiting in lines, and that would cut short the visit.

Has anyone gone recently using the free entry, how was the experience?
Would it be crowded in mid-Nov?
What can be seen in one hour? Free entry time is between 4-5pm, and I'm assuming they'll herd us out at 5?

Thanks!

I just bought a ticket and went during regular hours. To tour all the rooms and gardens, I'd plan half a day. Some people might stay even longer. An hour would be practically running through the rooms with a sideways glance at the gardens on the way out.

My experience with free days/hours has led me to agree with Rick on this. The crowds and waits in line make the free visit less than a bargain.

Thanks. I've also found that sell the free entry ticket online (have to pay 1 euro free). With this, can we skip the line?

Brad, did you wait in line when you purchased your ticket in advance?
