Seville help

5 days in Seville in early April… is this crazy? We didnt want to be jumping trains and running to the next location. Looking for a more relaxed stay.
Any really nice hotel suggestions? We are all foodies! We hope to make the most of our stay before returning to Madrid.

Suggestions appreciated!

We just returned from Southern Spain. 4 nights Sevilla (would have been happy with more time, for sure), 3 nights Granada, 1 night Cordoba (consider a day trip from Sevilla by train if you get antsy, or one night stopover on your way to Madrid since the train goes through there anyway), 1 night Madrid before flight home.

Do the orientation tour with Concepcion (recommended in Rick’s book), for lots of ideas on other spots to visit while there. If you haven’t been to the Alcazar, we loved the gardens. The rooftop tour of the cathedral was fascinating with amazing views. And we loved the cooking class in Triana recommended in Rick’s book. We did a ton, but I would still consider going back to Sevilla just to be able to revisit, go deeper, etc. We did a tapas tour with Shawn, also from Rick’s book, and it was excellent and we left with recommendations for other places, so do it early in your stay. We were just starting to feel settled in when it was time to leave.

We stayed in an apartment as we were there with our son and it was our longest stay. More room helps us when we stay in one place for longer, as does ability to do a little cooking, etc. The place was great, but if you don’t need more space, won’t be useful for you.

We stayed at Hotel Kivir right on the river near the Plaza de Torros which we enjoyed last May. We stayed for 4 nights and did not get to see/do everything we wanted. Seville is on my list of places to return. We loved it.

It’s been years since we were in Sevilla, but we stayed at Hotel Amadeus. It’s about a five minutes walk from the cathedral.

While we were in Seville, October 2022, besides touring the cathedral, etc we did a few fun things:

We took a one hour flamenco dance class through Seville Walking Tours - Fun, fun, fun
A cooking class at the Tirana market through Taller Andaluz de Cocina. Small group, again a fun evening, made paella, sangria and gazpacho.
We took a tour of the Bullring. Very interesting and you can walk out into the field, made for some fun photos
A boat ride down the Guadalquivir River. A boat ride is always relaxing.

Highly recommend H10 Casa de la Plata. We stayed there in September and loved everything about it. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and provided a warm welcome complete with chilled cava. The public areas are beautifully decorated and welcoming, as was our room. Both the bedroom and bathroom were good-sized and well lit. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable. Daily refresh of the room and bath was perfect. Location is great for sightseeing…as well as the proximity to Bar el Comercio (churros!!!).
