Seville - car rental location, train station or Centro Comercial Torre Sevilla -Cartuja

Hello, I haven’t seen anyone mention this. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to renting a car at the Centro Comercial Torre Sevilla -Cartuja location over the train station? Looking at maps, it seems like it will be easier for us to get to. We’re staying in the San Vicente area, which is closer to Triana than to the train station. Prices are similar; I’m just thinking of logistics. We’ll be using the car for just a few day trips. I know parking will be a problem but I’m hoping parking apps will help with that. Any advice appreciated! Thank you.

Which train station are you referring to? There are a few in the city. The mall location would be easy to get to and leaving town from it would be easy. Driving in Sevilla is a pain, but at least you’re away from the historic center.

For parking, there is free parking along Calle Torneo if you get lucky enough to get a spot, but don’t count on it. There is a larger free lot further away at PARKING Estación Blas Infante, metro station. Most likely you’ll want to park closer to your lodging. In your case it will probably be Parking Saba Plaza Concordia or Parking Saba Plaza de Armas. Both are pay underground garages. Look them up and bookmark them to you navigation app. Use Google maps street view and do a virtual drive by to get an idea what they’ll look like as you approach them.

As an FYI, parking places in many parking garages are not overly wide and maneuverability in some garages is limited, so get the smallest sized vehicle you can get away with. Back in 2011, in Sevilla, I parked in Interparking Cano y Cueto for a couple days. When I went to leave there was a grapefruit size dent in a fender from where somebody backed into the vehicle. Of course, there was no note as to who did it or say sorry.

Thank you! That’s exactly the info I needed. The train station I was referring to is Santa Justa so what you say about driving in the historical area still applies, I think. I’ll definitely check out the parking garages. Much appreciated!
