I have been to Barcelona in February, thinking about Seville and Madrid in mid January. Anyone think this is not the best time of year to visit these places? I heard it rains a lot in January. Maybe I should wait later when it is warmer? Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
My understanding is Madrid can experience bitter winds and occasional snow in January.
Sevilla on the other hand should be pleasant if quite cool.
Check online weather stats for Madrid. I, too, have read that it has very cold winters.
The trade-off for the weather in Madrid would be more indoor sightseeing, if you're interested in the art museums and royal palace, for instance.
