Seville and Barcelona for One Week

Hi Everyone!

I'm planning on going to Seville and Barcelona in March of next year for one week and was wondering what would be the best way to get there if I'm flying from LAX.

I'm thinking of being in Seville for 2-2.5 days and then Barcelona for 3.5 (factoring in flights).

Would love to get your thoughts on this--thank you!

<> are you asking for routing advice? I can't answer that...but I recommend at least looking at flying into one city and out the other. I understand that for the US, there are big cost benefits for a return flight (most likely Barcelona), but it means losing the better part of a day to get to Seville, or back from Seville.

Depending on when in March - if late month leading up to Easter, there are big fiestas going on in Seville where you might benefit from some extra time.

Yes, I was just wondering what is the best way to get to these cities. Most likely going in early March so will miss the Easter festivities.

Do you suggest flying from Seville to Barcelona or taking a train?

Spain's a big enough country that when we've visited, we've either seen just the northern part or the southern part on every trip. If you only have a week and are committed to visiting those two cities, though, look into cheap flights on Vueling, Spain's low-cost airline. They will, hopefully, have a flight at a time that works for you, at a decent price.

Trains are a possibility, but will take a big chunk of time out of your 1-week itinerary. Have a great trip - both cities are terrific!

U can train it from Seville to Barcelona about 5 hrs 25 min. For more info ck www.seat61.com.
Of course to get to Seville from lax would involve plane transfer prob best in London.
Alot of time is lost on a 1 wk travel in Spain. Perhaps u could consider Barcelona and Madrid combo, or barcelona and daytrips to costa del sol instead. A much better use of your valuable vacation time. Remember u will prob have jet lag when u arrive in Spain.

Norwegian flies LAX to BCN if you are looking at cheapest.

With 7 nights in Spain ...
1. Arrive Barcelona (2N)
2. Barcelona
3. Barcelona. Evening flight to Sevilla (3N)
4. Day to Cordoba
5. Sevilla
6. Train to Barcelona (2N)
7. Barcelona
8. Depart Barcelona

definitely fly between Seville and Barcelona. So much time saved. There are so many budget airlines that make the trip.

You can definitely fly out of Seville to home, but it is harder. Routes you through Lisbon sometimes.

If it were me, for a week, I would focus on either northern or southern Spain and not try to do both. Maybe Barcelona and Madrid or Seville and Granada, etc.
