We will be ending our tour in Sevilla in September & are trying to figure out how to travel to Tangier. The discussions in the forum state it cannot be done in a day so we are thinking of staying overnight in Tarifa. It is so far in advance I cannot seem to pull up bus/ferry schedules. Would it work with our luggage to bus from Sevilla to Tarifa; ferry from Tarifa to Tangier; arrange for a private tour guide recommended in Rick's book to meet us; stay over night in Tarifa; fly to Madrid from Tariff in the morning where we would catch our flight to the states? Don't expect to find final bus schedules published before summer, but I'd also expect them to be similar to the current schedule. The 9:30 departure from Sevilla arrives to Tarifa at 12:30; you would not get on the 13:00 FRS ferry departure but could catch the next one, which might be by InterShipping. RyanAir and Iberia both fly nonstop from Tangier to Madrid. Remember the time change between the two countries.

Thank you Laura, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but the bus schedule only shows departure/arrival time as 2000/2300! Is there an earlier bus/ferry that could get us in earlier? We are early risers so it wouldn't be a problem, otherwise I'm not sure it would be worth the extra effort/cost to go for such as short amount of time. Thanks

There was not a departure from Sevilla before 9:30 on the spring schedule. To use the link you select region first, then city (Sevilla/Sevilla, Cadiz/Tarifa) and choose an actual date. However, the site appears to be not working today.
