Sevilla to Malaga

Will be picking up rental car and taking to Malaga where we will use as home base to explore some of Andalucia. Wondering if anyone has driven this and would have suggestions and route to take to see as much as possible on the way to Malaga. We would love to see Ronda so would it be possible make since and drive south from Sevilla via Acros de la Fonttera to Ronda? Suggestions please.

Thank you

From Seveiila, take the AP4/E9 south to Jerez de la Frontera. That should take you about an hour. From Jerez, take the A-382 to Arcos de la Frontera. That should be about 40 minutes drive. After leaving Arcos, take the A-372 towards Ronda. Between Arcos and Ronda are the whites towns Grazalema and Zahara de la Sierra. North or Ronda is Sentenil de la Bodegas that might be nice for a short stop. After leaving Arcos until you reach Malaga, the roads will be smaller and wind more than the interstates. The speed limit is lower too. From Ronda you can take the A-397 south to the coast, then pick up the AP7 towards Malaga. AP roads are toll interstates.

The towns and sights of Andalucia are very spread out, so day trips will involve hours of driving, and then time (and money) to find parking.

viamichelin.com is the best site I've found for driving in Europe. It estimates the net driving time Sevilla via Acros de la Fonttera to Ronda to Malaga as 5 hours. If you use 2 days, with an overnight stay in Ronda you'd have time to see Arcos, Ronda and maybe a couple other pueblos blancos. If you plan to start in Sevilla and sleep in Malaga that night, you won't have time for sightseeing both Arcos and Ronda.
