Looking for neighborhood recommendations for Sevilla for 2-3 nights AirBNB rental. We will be arriving in a rental car and flying out of the city. We could potentially drop off the car early. Is Barrio Santa Cruz reasonable?
Santa Cruz is a good choice, central for the main sights, but it's certainly not somewhere to take a car, so you would be wise to drop it when you arrive in Sevilla before going into the district. Though that does depend where exactly in the barrio you be stopping. Parts are bordering main roads. A taxi from the city to the airport is also a good idea, though you can go by bus to save money.
Personally, we prefer the area around Plaza Nueva, being a bit less touristy, but it's just a matter of choice and no need to avoid SC which I'm sure you will adore.
Barrio Santa Cruz is the tourist center., Cathedral, Alcazar. It would be a convenient area to stay. Beautiful city. I would not want a car in Seville., narrow passages, crowds. What do mean by reasonable? Prices? We stayed in hotels both times we visited Sevilla so can’t comment on AirBnB.
We stayed in Macarena and enjoyed it but Santa Cruz is more central and probably better for such a short stay. I would drop the car beforehand -- you don't want to deal with parking it in Sevilla.
Barrio Santa Cruz is great. Drop the car at the Santa Justa train station and take a taxi.
Thanks. Helpful replies so far.
Hi from Wisconsin,
We stayed about "four blocks" north of the cathedral. Cuesta del Rosario is a street that runs through the southern area I mention and goes through the "alfalfa". Just far enough away from tourist groups that you have real people. Real restaurants. Kids playing in small squares while parents watch them while having a drink. Close enough so you can be at the tourist sites in five minutes.
Some very nice restaurants, Fargo: a farm to table place, and Tradevo: a traditional Evolutionary place.. Get it? TraditionalEvolving. And if you need to buy your new Flamenco dress, there are stores that have nice selections of finished dresses, or cloth to make one at home.

Thanks. As a former resident of Fargo, ND, this sounds intriguing.
Barrio Santa Cruz for sure. We stayed in an apartment just down the alleyway and you were on the main street. It was perfect for getting everywhere.
Here is where we stayed https://www.vrbo.comhttps://www.vrbo.com/6845325ha
The view of the Catedral, you could see people standing in the tower.
Don't have a car in Sevilla, you will not need it, and there is nowhere to park.
We stayed in Barrio Santa Cruz and just note that you can't even drive the car in most of the area, as it's pedestrian only (streets are too narrow), so you should drop it when you arrive. While the area is really convenient to many sites (and is really cute with the narrow backstreets), just know that it will also be crowded and busy all of the time, essentially their Times Square. We had difficulty getting into restaurants without reservations or you're eating tapas at a casual place (which can be good too, we just didn't want to do it every time).
I stayed a little out of the Barrio, closer to the Bull Ring. Though it was a little hard to find the first day as no straight streets, I loved the apartment. An affordable penthouse (with elevator) with a terrace and view of the Cathedral. It will sleep 4, but it wouldn't leave any privacy if 2 couples.
