Hello. My spouse and I will be in Sevilla for four days in the beginning of December. Need advice on a nice historical property to stay in Sevilla. Recommendations for Sevilla also would be nice. Not looking to leave the city at this point as we have such a short stay. Thanks.
Hotel Amadeus is lovely and very well located. I've stayed there on all 3 of my visits.
For me the top sight is the Alcazar. If you want to climb the cathedral's tower, best to do it soon after it opens, before it gets crowded, though I imagine the views would be nice around sunset if it's open then. Go to La Casa de Flamenco for a good flamenco performance. This March I went to the newly opened (and thus not in any guide books yet) Casa de las Duenas - beautiful and very interesting history.
If Cordoba is not on your itinerary, I urge you to take a day trip there by train. The Mezquita is a wow (tops every sight in Sevilla) and the Juderia is well worth at least a couple hours, one of the best preserved medieval town centers in Spain.
We were a group of four, so we rented an Airbnb apartment in Triana, around the corner from the Triana market. We absolutely loved the location; even though it was slightly farther from the center (15m walk to the Cathedral), it felt more authentic and local.
As for sight recommendations, I am going to echo Chani. We loved the Cathedral, a day trip to Córdoba (totally doable with four days in Sevilla) and the flamenco show at Casa del Flamenco is a must-see. We also booked in advance for the Royal Alcazar, which everyone enjoyed. Basilica de la Macareña is a little outside the tourist core, but was worth the €8 taxi fare - it ended up being one of my favorite sights in all of Spain. I know you said you didn't want to do a day trip, but I think it's possible to see everything in Sevilla and still go to Córdoba which has the amazing Mezquita.
We stayed at the El Rey Moro www.elreymoro.com. Lovely boutique hotel with a beautiful interior courtyard. About a 5 minute walk to the cathedral on narrow walkways with shops and restaraunts. We would stay here again if we ever went back to Sevilla. Simply a charming hotel.
