Hello. For sightseeing the city on foot, would you recommend that it's better to stay near the Alameda de Hercules or the Cathedral? I am not really one for a lot of late nightlife, but I love the day life. Thank you.
Looking at a map, the Alameda de Hercules is a bit far from the center where the Cathedral and many other sights are. I have always stayed at the Amadeus Hotel in the Juderia and been very happy with the location.
From the far end of the Alameda de Hercules (where it meets with Calle Calatrava) to the Cathedral is a mile, a little further to a couple sights. It isn’t close to any of the major sights in the city. Last time I was in Sevilla I too stayed at Hotel Amadeus. If the place you wanted to stay at was closer, then the walk would be shorter. If you’d only need to make the walk a couple times, it wouldn’t be bad, but would get old if you had to do it frequently. Like everything else on this forum, it’s all personal choice and depends on what you want to see and how long you have to do it.
Another vote for Amadeus Hotel ..Nice roof top deck on the annex. It is convenient to everything.
Thanks so much to all of you for the recommendations. I checked the Amadeus and it looks great. Also, it really helps to know that that the Alameda de Hercules is so far from the cathedral. Muchas gracias!
