Sept trip

Considering trip to Barcelona late Sept. What is pulse of city with regard to tourists? (All over or just tourist-concentrated areas like Las Ramblas?) In light of the drought, we’d be happy to skip areas we’re not welcome.

When are you visiting Barcelona in September? You may know that from Sept 20-24 are La Mercè festivities in the city. It's the annual city wide festival with 100s of cultural events spread throughout Barcelona's squares, streets, museums, and parks. This is something that we put on for ourselves, not just for tourists so it's great opportunity to experience our culture like a local, at least for a few days. The best part it's free! As for the drought, we had some unexpected rains late in the season so now our water capacity is about 35%, much better than the 15% we had a few months ago, hopefully it holds us over until the next rainy season. Water rationing protocols are still in effect though. The general mood towards tourists is that of apathy, which is typical in Barcelona.
