Segrada Familia Photography

I’ve read the rules on their website but remain confused. Am I, as a tourist and definitely not a professional, allowed to take photographs inside? Trying to decide if it is worth it to bring my larger camera vs only IPhone on our Spain trip for this venue and others

“If you're a tourist with a regular camera then you will be permitted to take photographs inside the Sagrada Familia.” It goes on to say that no professional equipment will be allowed. Is your larger camera considered professional equipment?

Usually in other venues any DSLR including medium format are fine. The factors that start crossing the line are the use of flash, reflectors, light stands. Also if it’s obviously a professional model with wardrobe and styling or possibly a wedding photo session.

i had no issues last year using my full frame mirrorless with pro zoom lenses inside the sagrada familia. i had a shoulder camera bag and was switching lenses regularly. naturally flash, tripod, lights, and obvious 'pro' style photo shoots will raise red flags. no problem elsewhere including the granada, and the mezquita cathedral in cordoba. the one place they are strict about the no-camera rule is the prado museum. they have the museum guards marching up and down the galleries preventing people from taking photos even with phone cameras.

No extra lights or tripod, that'd be considered "professional". Anything else goes.
