Segrada Familia BCN

Good Morning

We are in BCN for a few nights on our way home.

Is there an official site to pre purchase basic tickets to the Segrada Familia? We are not interested in a tour.

Obviously there will be queues hence pre purchased tickets are probably a good idea.

There are numerous sites, to choose from.

Would appreciate a few suggestions.

Many thanks

I think this is what you want. You absolutely should buy your tickets in advance.

Other places in Barcelona for which pre-purchased, time-specific tickets are critical (if you want to see them) are: Parc Guell, Casa Mila/La Pedrera, Casa Batllo, Picasso Museum and Palau de la Musica Catalana. English tours can sell out at the latter and ticket lines are long at the first four. Note that crowds are to be expected at most of the top sights in Barcelona.

Thanks, Bill. Don't know how I managed to forget to post the link.

Bill it seems you live in Barcelona.

We are keen to visit Port Vell and Team New Zealand's base, in lieu of the Americas cup.

Is it easy access to the area?

I assume you just head down there and meander along the port area?.

Question: I love to look at architecture and my wife and I like to visit art museums. But, we have done the Europe 3 C's:

Castles, Churches and Cathedrals in plenty of other cities.

I would like to see the Segrada Familia, at least the exterior, because it is Gaudi. But, I am not a fan or devotee of Saudi.

Will a visit to the interior add much to my experience?

Of course, it is all relative to one's tastes and desires. But with 48 hours in Barcelona, can I make better use of my time versus waiting in an entrance line?

GoWest, it would be best if you started your own thread. That way, you'll be notified when someone posts a a response. As it is, rob_chris is going to receive all the notifications.

Or, when I am in the mood to look for new threads/topics I can also click on this. Or, I can go to "My Account", drop down and go to "Travel Forum" and click on this thread.

Why clutter up my life with "notifications" ?

Do you not understand that rob_chris is even less interested in notifications about answers to your question than you are?

@Gowest… The interior of Sagrada Familia is pretty spectacular. It’s not a typical cathedral

Chris,

Yes it is easy and yes head to Maremagnum Shopping Centre in Port Vell and from there you can access all the bases from the different teams. Something else is whether they're now visitable. Last time I was in the area they were still being set up.

I am sure it will... we're quite used to nautical international competitions here in Barcelona. We've hosted many of them such as the Thousand Mile Regatta, the ORC Sailing World Cup, the European Championship Nacra 17 or the Open International Barcelona Coastal, among many others. The America's Cup will no doubt be also a great event, if anything as glamorous as the F1 Grand Prix and the MotoGP races celebrated in Montmeló -near Barcelona :)

Thank you. Yes, Go Te Rehutai!

Ideally it was to be defended in Auckland, sadly politics and lack of funds got in the way.

However, what better alternative than Barcelona to hold the event. We’ll have to be content watching from afar.

Thank you for the information, much appreciated.
