Segovia Folk Festival in June and other day trips from Madrid

I'm planning a 2 night trip from Madrid to stay in Segovia during their annual folk festival. Has anyone been there during that time? Is two nights too long to stay there?

I will be in Madrid for a week and also planning a day trip to Toledo.

Then I read about Granada and/or Córdoba and got excited about those places as well. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the choices and travelling in late June I realize I need to make a decision soon so I can get reasonably priced accomodation.

Suggestions?

You've run into one of the facts of life regarding Madrid: an incredible number of really exceptional day-trip possibilities. Granada is not a practical day-trip from Madrid, however; it takes too long to get there at the moment since there's no AVE rail service yet. The trip is long enough, and there are so many other attractive possibilities, that I'd tend to omit Granada from this trip.

Go to the Renfe website and check the schedules for the destinations you're considering to see what might be the best use of your time.
