I will be in Sevilla studying for 6 weeks from Feb 1 - mid-March. My daughter will be visiting from 3/17-3/24 (both of which are travel days for her so she will only be in the country for 6 days). Her goal is to visit me in Sevilla, visit a friend in Malaga, and see however much of southern Spain she can in the remaining time. And we need to be back in Madrid by Thursday evening (3/22) to meet up with my husband where we’ll spend the next day and a half seeing Madrid before putting her on a plane and heading up north ourselves (that will be another post). I would greatly appreciate any comments on the following itinerary.
Itinerary:
3/17-3/18: Daughter arrives in Sevilla from US early evening on 17th. We’ll spend a little more than 24 hours seeing Sevilla (way too little, I know)
3/19: Rent car for drive into the hills with overnight in Rondo
3/20: Drive on to Malaga for overnight, return rental car, and visit friend of daughter's.
3/21: Take train to Toledo (AVE to Madrid and then commuter train to Toledo) for overnight in Toledo
3/22: Spend day in Toledo, taking train back to Madrid to meet up with husband early evening and spend 1-1/2 days in Madrid
My main question here is whether this seems like way too much; is it crazy to try to see both Rondo and Toledo? My daughter is not much of a museum person and will be more interested in seeing the cities and towns, as well as soaking up the culture and food. I like the flexibility that renting a car will give us in going from Sevilla to Malaga and then catching the AVE back to Madrid, stowing our suitcases at Atocha, and making the quick 24 hour or so trip to Toledo.
Thanks for any suggestions!
