Searching for a quiet beach town on or near Costa del Sol for a day at the beach

My sister and I are searching for a seaside town with a beach along the Costa del Sol (somewhere between La Linea and Salobrena) before we head inland to Granada. A quiet beach, not a resort, to have lunch and a relaxing afternoon. It will be in early - mid October and we'll be driving. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Just head to Salobreña. By October the tourist season will be over and the beach won’t be crowded. If I remember correctly, it has a very wide beach. I would have liked more time there. Salobreña is about an hour drive from Granada on an interstate type road.

North of there is Lanjarón. It too was nice to walk around and had a number of shops and restaurants. There’s also a castle ruin there. It would be a nice place to stop for lunch.

Salobreña or Almunecar will be fine according to you itinerary but if yu have time to go a bit more West I will suggest Burrian in Nerja is just such a nice beach and small town

I was actually surprised how much I liked Tarifa. It was both prettier and quieter than I was expecting. We stayed in a small Hostal just outside of town on the beach, but inside the town would be a walk, rather than a drive to restaurants. Since you're driving, there is a Roman ruin not too far up the coast. It's not huge but has a surprisingly nice museum too. I was there ten years ago, the admission was one euro each at the time.
