Spouse and I are currently in Madrid through Tuesday 2/13. We’re really enjoying using the clean and efficient public transit system, especially the buses. In particular, we’ve taken the #001 and have been impressed with the sights along the way and we wondered if there are other scenic routes. Thanks!

I see you already went to Madrid. How did you use the free bus? Did you have to sign up? I’m leaving tomorrow for Madrid. Hope you had a great time there. Any transport tips you care to share?

We weren’t aware of the free buses when we were there in February. Upon landing at the airport in Madrid we each purchased a 7-day multi pass zone A.
We thought that the Madrid Municipal Transport system was great - one of the nicest and easiest to navigate that I’ve found in our travels. As we’re heavy bus and subway users, we found the pass to be a very good value. We downloaded the “Official Metro de Madrid” app and used it to plan our routes. Other than that I don’t have any other specific tips.
