We’ll be driving north along the coast from Barcelona to Begur, then to Girona before our last stop in Sitges before flying home. I’m hoping to find an inland route for a nice drive with a quick stop for a light lunch in a small village or town with easy parking. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Terry
Hi not sure if I'm understanding your route, if going to Sitges after Girona won't you just be backtracking through Barcelona? Are you going along c-32 to Sitges?
I can recommend Restaurant La Cúpula Garraf in Garraf, which is on the coast, but again you have to back track through Barcelona, if that's in the cards?
PS: In Spain there is not the "light lunch" ;-)
Peratallada is about as charming as it gets. We had a nice lunch there. Near Begur, easy parking. Pals is pretty nice too. Barcelona/Begur/Girona/Stiges is a pretty full day. Brad
Thank you both. To clarify we will be stay 5 nights in Barcelona and then driving along the Coast to Begur, where we will stay 3 nights. Then we go to Girona and stay 3 nights before leaving for our last 3 night stay in Sitges to relax before flying back to the US.
I’m trying to avoid backtracking and want different scenery from the coast. Should we go to Sitges via Vic, Terrassa or any other ideas?
Was thinking we could find a sandwich vs menu del dia?
Thanks again
Terry
Thanks for the additional info, in that case I'd say try Vic. A few days a week they have a nice farmers' market day on the Placa Major. Vic is known for it's amazing Fuet sausages and the unique Vic Cathedral, a mix of Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassic styles. You can stop by Xarcuteria Solà S.c.p in the center of town to pick up some delicatessen supplies for sandwiches.
You can also try Igualada or Sant Cugat... but I'd pass on Terrassa (a workaday town).
Thanks Carlos, I’ll search for those sausages!
