We (husband and I) will be in San Sebastian in May 2026. Any hotel or hostel recommendations? Not looking for anything super expensive, just a nice location.

On a Rick Steves tour, we stayed at Hotel Parma in San Sebastian.

We stayed 2 nights at Pensión Ab Domini (probably booked it through booking.com), and it was quite nice, with a central location in the old town, and with a balcony overlooking the street activities. We had good dinners at SSUA tapas restaurant and Taberna Gandarias.

Stayed in San Sebastian’s Old Town at “Pension Basic Confort,” a family-operated small hotel. Gracious hosts who gave us their list of Best Pinxto Bars— many which were just on the next street. Pension Basic Confort books up months in advance so reserve early. It is listed on Booking.com
