A little confused about buying tickets to the Sagrada Familia. I am buying tickets for 6.
When I go to the ticketing site, I choose the “individual” column and type in the number of people, the date of arrival and the time to visit 9AM.
I hit “Continue” and I get the option for “tower”. I take it. Now I get asked “what time?” The options I get is 9:15, 9:30, 9:45 AM.
How do I square the time to visit the Sagrada at 9:AM with the times given for the tower? I certainly don’t want to miss anything.
Am I missing something or misunderstanding something?
I need help.
Thanks
Lakshman
As I understand it from what other people have posted--not having been up one of the towers myself--your tower time is always shortly after your church-entry time. The assumption seems to be that most of your time in the church itself will be afteryou ascend the tower. I think this is a bit unfortunate, because if you have a really early church-entry time, you'd probably like to see the church then, before it becomes so crowded. But that's not really the way it works.
A couple of tips: 1) The museum explains how Gaudi designed the church and is really quite interesting. Not many people go into the museum, so it is much less crowded than the church. 2) Once you enter the shop, you cannot go back into the church on the same ticket. Be sure everyone in your group understands that.
The word on the towers, incidentally, is that they are good for giving you an up-close look at some of the architectural features on upper part of the church but don't give particularly outstanding views of the city.
Personally, I would take the later tower option. By arriving at the early entry time, you have few crowds and have the church pretty much to yourself. You’ll be surprised how quickly it fills up and that changes the experience. We chose one of the early tower times and regretted that because the church was filled when we came back down. This year the tower is not an option because my husband can’t do the stairs back down.
