My husband and I are planning a visit to Barcelona from May 30 to June 3. We are thinking of going to the Sagrada Familia on Friday May 31 and purchasing advance tickets on the website that include the audio guide and tower visit. Which tower would you recommend we sign up for? Also, what is the age for seniors as I notice they have discounted prices for seniors? What time would you recommend visiting.? (We are planning on visiting Park Guell on the same day. )
The website doesn't appear to define "senior", and elsewhere the term "pensioner" is used. However, it is common (though not universal) for tourist sites in Spain to offer discounts to those who are at least 65 years old, so I think the odds are good that 65 is the answer. Take your passport for verification.
The current procedure for those with tower tickets seems to be that your tower time will be 15 minutes after your church-entry time. There isn't as much advantage to buying tickets at the opening time as there would be for someone not interested in a tower, because you'll need to head over to the elevator pretty quickly to line up. There was a very recent thread in which people discussed what time might be best for the stained glass windows. If you go to the Spain forum and scroll back just a bit, I'm sure you can find it. That will probably be easier than trying to use the Search function.
I think it might be rather warm at mid-day, so you might want to avoid that time period at Parc Guell.
