We will be visiting Barcelona at the beginning of November. Should we get tickets to the Sagrada Familia in advance.
I was wondering if there was a way to buy tickets to the church without a timed entry? Thanks.

Yes.
No, there isn't as there's no timed entrance there, besides, entrance to the Cathedral is free at certain hours. Check its website.
PS: Just to clarify, Sagrada Familia and the Cathedral are two different sites, huh!
Thank you for the clarification! My question refers to the Sagrada Familia only. :)
Thought so... it's a basilica, not a cathedral.
Therefore, yes, you should purchase in advance. Depending on the time of the year, two or three of days in advance it suffices. You could always buy at the booths on site, but I totally recommend against that because the queues are epic and furthermore once you get to purchase it, it's very unlikely you'll find an immediate slot to visit. Keep in mind Sagrada Familia receives 4.5 million visitors every year (2016), so it's always very busy.
Go to their website , it will show you the range of tickets , you may want to go up one of the towers , we just came back and booked our tickets beforehand , had a reserved time as we went up one the towers .
Any suggestions on which Tower to visit?
And be aware that although you get an elevator up the towers, you have to walk down about 400 very narrow spiraling steps. No exceptions; so not for the mobility challenged.
We went up the passion tower you get some good views , see the construction going on , there is a few landing spots where you can stop on the walk down the 400 spiral stairs . Our reserved time was 11:15 , did the tower first then the audio tour afterwards. Seemed very organized. No big lineup if you have a reserved time
