Sagrada Familia Tickets

We will be in BCN on October 1. I went to their site to buy tickets and they give you the option of a ticket with a guide. Is it worth the extra couple of Euros for the guide? I was thinking an 11 am entry time? Thoughts comments welcome

The standard audio guide is very good and I believe comes with your ticket. I'm not sure what else you'd get from a personal guide other than personality.

Try to go up a tower if you can. That's an extra ticket.

Be sure not to miss the small exhibition room just off the Nativity entry. It shows examples of the church details and what inspired them. Very informative in understanding Gaudi's mindset and the rational behind the wild architecture. But not many people venture inside.

The audio guide will be sufficient. Take time to just sit inside and absorb the magnificent display of colors from the sun coming through the stained glass. Look up at the ceiling. Examine the altar and organ area. The tower does require an additional time and a specific time for admission will be printed on it. Be sure to get your ticket in advance and avoid the long line that snakes around the building. With your ticket, you will be able to go to the head of the line, and enter from the other side of the entry...with a much shorter time period. Also, you can get a membership in the Friends of the Sagrada Familia on their web site which gets you to the head of the line. Check it out on their website. Money well spent.

I also would choose the audio guide instead of the live guide at the time you buy your ticket. That gives you more freedom to start and stop commentary at your own pace and probably gives you at least as much info, if not more.

I would get a 9am entry time and get there early to be at the front of the people who also have 9am entry times. We had a good 20-25 minutes in there with very few people as everyone else we still getting in. We had tower tickets for 9:30 and then when we came back down, much more crowded and not as magical as it was in the early time with less crowds.

Are US citizens eligible for the senior tickets? We are both over 65. I know some venues only consider EU citizens for these discounts
