Sagrada Familia - Nativity / Passion Towers closed

Heads up - for those who may have upcoming bookings for the visit.

We had a reservation for 9.45 at the Nativity Tower today morning. When we reached the elevator entrance we were told that access to both the towers were closed for the day, possibly for the security situation and the closure may persist for the next few days. A refund for € 5 will be processed automatically in 2 weeks for those who bought tickets directly.

Also, thoughts and prayers for all residents of Barcelona and the departed souls.

Regarding the refund, we were there in March and the Towers were closed that day due to wind. Th refund did not automatically process in 2 weeks, nor in 4. I had to contact them by email regarding what should have been automatic, was given a "stall" reply, and a week later had to recontact them and tell them that if this was not processed it was going to my credit card company including their text from their webpage regarding their prompt refund policy, which they were not following. This did release the refund. I hate to be this cynical, but given how simple this should have been, it appears to me that they will not make the refunds for the closed Towers unless you push them.

Considering what happened in Barcelona and nearby, and the horrible impact on so many, I would think that efficient processing of €5 refunds would be pretty low priority. If it doesn't come through, I would just let it go.

Would either of you who visited happen to know the number of steps to get down from either of the towers?

We were there on the 23rd and both towers were open , seemed to be back to normal. There is 400 steps going down the passion tower , very narrow and most of it is a circular staircase.

Pretty sure the processing of ticket refunds at Sagrada familia has absolutely nothing to do with current security problems. The police are not running the credit card refund office of the tourist site. This is the sort of thing that a clerk should have been able to do in one day.

We were there a few days ago and saw some people up in the towers so it doesn't look like they are closed any longer.
