I’ve searched the forum about buying tickets for visiting Sagrada Familia. Some people have credit card issues. My issue is downloading the official Sagrada Familia. I’m in the USA, and the app is “not available in my region.” Has anyone else had this problem? Do I really need to download the app (as the official website encourages you to do)?

If that's the case, try to download it "when" you are in the region, that is, when you're in Barcelona. I'd say :)
But no, you don't need the app to purchase a ticket, you can do it online at the official website. Ask your bank about your ccard... most of the time the "problems" lay with the limitations of your bank when issuing the ccard rather than Sagrada Familia's website.
