I have tickets reserved for Sagrada Familia at 10:30, that was the earliest time slot available on a Sunday. I bought them from the official SF website. I also bought tickets for Park Guell on the same day for 5:00 p.m. I am planning to do the Gaudi Houses, the Palau de la Misica, the Rambla and The Gothis Quarter the following day. Does that sound doable, and what would you do ((besides a lovely, long lunch) between Sagrada and Guell?
The Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau is a lovely, multi-building complex in beautifully landscaped grounds not far from La Sagrada Familia. It was designed by the same man responsible for the Palau de la Musica Catalana. You already have an architecture-heavy itinerary, so you may not want to add more in that vein, but Sant Pau doesn't require pre-booking, so it can be a last-minute decision. The complex isn't small and takes some time to see. It doesn't get a lot of tourist traffic (so far) and will not be packed to the gills like the Gaudi sites typically are.
Thank you! I have read about the Sant Pau site, but had forgotten about it. That might work!
I was going to suggest Saint Pau as well. I really enjoyed my visit there and so glad they didn’t tear it down to build a new hospital because they needed a new one to accommodate all new technology. They built another one in a different location. It’s an easy 10 minute walk from SF along a street full of shops and restaurants. Oh darn, I noticed you will be there on a Sunday like I was. Unfortunately the shops will be closed but restaurants and souvenir shops will be open.
