Going to Barcelona for the first time this February. Booking tickets for this. We would like to tour at our own pace but not sure what tickets to purchase? If you have a dedicated time slot booked, does "skip the line" really matter, or it this just a marketing tactic? We just dont want to book a time slot and show up only having to find out the hard way that the line is a mile long. Thanks for your input.
I suggest you read through the FAQs on the official website. https://sagradafamilia.org/en/faqs
A time slot is required, and you get it when you buy your ticket in advance. Skip the line just means that you have already bought your ticket. Note that tickets are nominative: you need to supply the personal information for each person at time of purchase. They are non-transferable and require you to show official ID (passport in your case) for entry. Be on time - officially they dont allow entry if you are late arriving. The only line for ticket holders would be at security. No one can skip that. And be aware of the dress code.
Just make sure to book with the official website; I am going in March and plan to book the guided tour. You do not need skip the line if you have a time slot. Tickets for February are on sale now.
No, it's just a marketing gimmick. When you purchase a ticket, you're assigned a time slot to get in. You get to the site 10'-15' before that slot and you'll "line up" with those entering at that specific slot. Once the slot is open, the line moves quite rapidly.
