We are Non Europeans flying with Ryan Air once again.
Last time we traveled with RA, we had to get our Passports verified and the Boarding Pass stamped at the airport,
before boarding.
In Amsterdam, it was done at the Airport Service Desk.
In Dublin it was at RA Check In Desk.
Our next trip with RA will be in Spain from Barcelona El Prat Airport to Palma de Mallorca Airport.
and then return.
So I was wondering where the Ryanair Visa/Document Check Desk is at Barcelona Airport and
also where the Ryanair Visa/Document Check Desk is at at Palma de Mallorca Airport ?
With out the Ryanair Visa/Document Check, boarding will be denied.
Thanks for any help
Surely once you get your boarding pass - it will tell you what you need and where to get it? Check in counters work for most things
I've never flown RA—How did you know where to go for document checks in all those previous times?
On the Boarding Pass it says that you must have the pass stamped after the Visa/Document Check.
And that's all it says.
Last time in Amsterdam, we went to the RA check in and they said to go to the Customer service desk in the airport,
The line up was about 60 people deep, luckily a person changed spots with us, or we would have missed our flight to Dublin.
In Dublin, RA has their own Visa/Document Check Desk, I asked why, and was told because Dublin is RA main Hub.
OP, I will be doing the same thing in June (flying from Barcelona to Palma on Ryanair). May I ask where you went for the stamp?
This situation is the major reason (not the only one) I try very hard to avoid RyanAir. This is an extra step required, so far as I know, by no other airline.
Our experience doing this at the Barcelona airport is about 5 years old - so things may have changed. But, back then, I had read about this required document check and so was prepared for it - but we still had trouble finding the right place. There was a long line for bag check and boarding passes. We started standing there but I walked around as my partner waited, just in case. As I did, I noticed that there was a tiny line for ticket sales. And then, on a little handwritten piece of paper, taped to the window, was a note that indicated the document check line was there - at the ticket sales.
This situation is a major one (not the only reason) I love this forum ;)
Thank you for the heads up!
Anyone know about this in the Mallaga airport (flight it to Mallorca)?
thank you for the headsup. i have a flight early next month :/ Ryanair was the only one offering direct prague to budapest :(
EDIT #1: just checked in. With American passport, Ryanair gave me the boarding pass after uploading the vaccine document and adding passport info. It does NOT say "document check" or any such thing. So I expect not having to do it. Will Add an update once thru!
Edit #2. I am on flight now. There was NO document check - used my phone boarding pass to go thru security into the plane. (But of course, non-EU folks should plan for extra time, just in case).
FYI: Thsi was my first time on budget EU airline. I downloaded their app. Check-in was open 2 days or more before the flight. So i clicked there. It asked for vaccine info or covid test. I upload a screenshot of the vaccine certificate. Then it gave me a boarding pass. On my boarding pass it shows "covid documentation uploaded" but does not say anything about document check. It was not needed.

As far as Malaga and Palma de Mallorca airports are concerned I have only ever seen a Ryanair check-in/baggage drop desk, I've not seen a place dedicated to document checks. I would recommend being at the airport early in order to enquire at check-in but bear in mind that the desk will not be open or manned earlier than two hours before departure.

From the Ryanair website:
Irrespective of a passenger's visa requirements, all non-EU/EEA citizens must have their travel documents checked and stamped at the Ryanair Visa/Document Check Desk before going through airport security. Your boarding pass will display this information for routes that you must comply with this Visa/Document checks requirement.
Non-EU/EEA passengers must do this in order to ensure compliance with immigration authorities. We reserve the right to refuse travel, if there is a failure to comply with this requirement.

Uploading vaccine info to what/where?
Hi, im struggling to find the right information on the document check. Im travelling alone next week, from Bristol to Malaga, i have my boarding pass printed off but it doesn't say anything on it re document check....but when i checked in i had two pop ups telling me i had to get my documents checked.
Im not sure which queue im going to have to join first 🤦♀️.
Has anyone flown with ryan air from Bristol recently and can direct me to the document check desk that I've been told to go to.
Thanks
Lovely company, RyanAir.
I'm sorry that I can be no help. Have you tried Googling?
I lived in UK for five years near Stansted and travelled a lot on Ryanair and as a non EU citizen I always had to do the document check prior to passing through security. It seemed like each Ryanair service area at different airports in different countries had their own procedure. If you see a Ryanair rep in the checkin service area approach them and ask. Sometime they have the authority to check, or they can direct you to the correct spot. Often they were able to do it (particularly at Stansted). They simply looked at my passport and wrote some kind of code and initials on my boarding pass. I seem to remember that it had to be done before passing through security to the gates area. Sometimes there was a sign at one of the Ryanair check in lines, sometimes not. Sometimes there was a dedicated spot for non EU document check. Sometimes I had to get in the long lines of people waiting to check in their luggage, sometimes not. I think it was in Barcelona that there was a dedicated window but I am not sure as it was about nine years ago. Give yourself plenty of extra time to get it done, especially in the bigger airports. Just be aware that it is required and ask when you get to the Ryanair counter area. More often than not, I did not have to wait in the long lines of people who needed to check in luggage, and those lines can be very long and slow. Despite this, since I knew it up front, and since I travel light, it didn't bother me too much, I gave myself extra time and I often flew with Ryanair because of their cheap prices.
Just an update on this subject:
I have done my check-in with Ryanair, and printed out ,, lets say: Boarding Passes, as some are not.
I have 2 flights within Spain, theses flights I was able to print out Boarding Passes with out having a Doc/Visa check required.
I tried printing out Boarding Passes for 2 flights, Spain to Dublin, and Dublin to Amsterdam,
These 2 flights print out look a lot the same, but are not Boarding Passes.
It says so on them, also it says, a Doc/Visa check is required at RA Check -in, and then Boarding Passes will be given to us.
I chatted with RA, they said that, for a non EU person,
if I am traveling out of the EU, a Doc/Visa check is required, inside the EU it is not.
