RS tour end in Seville help info for train to Madrid

Our tour ends in Seville, looking to take train to Madrid to fly out next morning. Looking for info/suggestions on trains from Seville, transportation from train to airport Madrid, places to stay either in Madrid or around Madrid airport (early fight). Thanks

The train is about 75euro unless you pay in advance. It is an easy trip from the Sevilla Santa Justa station, about 4 hours. Train goes to madrid Atocha station where you'd have a few options. There is a local train, Cercanias, the ticket for the local train is often included with the other ticket depending on where you buy it. You could also take the metro or a cab. I stayed on the Puerto del Sol which was a great place to be, but its about a 1/2 hour train ride to the airport, so you would probably want to look at other options.

Maybe staying at an airport hotel would work best for you. You could spend the day in Cordoba, which would be my recommendation if it's not on your tour. The Mezquita is a wow and the medieval Judaria is well-preserved. Store your bags at the bus station across the street from the train station. Then continue on the train to Atocha and to the hotel. OR spend the day in Madrid (there's luggage storage at Atocha). Either way, it'll be cheaper to take the train to the airport and then to the nearby hotel in the evening than a taxi in the morning.

Hello from Wisconsin,
To buy tickets for your Sevilla to Madrid travel, you should first read what 'seat 61' has to say about Spanish train ticket buying, and then follow that advise and go to 'loco2' to buy your tickets. Print them at home or down load them and you are set.

What Wayner said. So easy. Loco2 is a great site and for the most part, the Spanish train system is excellent.

Similar question. We are on the tour that ends in Seville on Friday morning. We are planning to take the train to Cordoba and spend the rest of Friday and Saturday there. Would it be feasible to take an early evening train from Cordoba to Madrid and spend the night before our noon flight in a hotel near the airport?

With a noon flight, you could easily stay in a city hotel in Madrid that night. That way, you can drop your luggage and have a leisurely last dinner in a nice restaurant.

I suggest booking a train in advance from Seville to Madrid. We made an error in our departure time and missed our afternoon train. Next available train arrived very late at night. Trainline is the app I used for booking trains in europe. There are several hotels near the Atocha train station. We stay at a Marriott property that was very nice/comfortable for a great price. We then took a taxi to the airport the next morning for a flight well before noon. Taxi was fixed priced and reasonable. You can also check uber.
