We are headed to Granada at the end of August and I'd like to do RS' "Granada in One Day" suggestion from the Spain book. Does anyone have any idea how long I should allow for the self-guided walk of old town? It starts at Corral del Carbon, goes to the Granada Cathedral (which I'd like to go inside), Royal Chapel Square, and ends at Paseo de los Tristes. Thanks in advance!
Maybe 3 hours including the cathedral. Will you go into the Royal Chapel? That was interesting and attractive. I would also highly recommend walking around the Albacin and Sacramonte. Enjoy!
Yes, we bought tickets to both the Cathedral and the Chapel.
It’s going to depend on how long you stay at each location and how distracted you get by all the amazing things to see along the way. I would plan on at least 4 hours. Some places, like the Corral, will probably be a quick stop (15 minutes?). Others you may want/need more time.
My recommendation is to do the Cathedral as soon as it opens.
The Royal chapel was nice. To me, the cathedral was rather plain and one of the least interesting I’ve visited, anywhere. It’s altar was pretty and I’m not sorry I visited it.
San Juan de Dios is fabulous.
