Is there a place ONLINE where we can buy tickets for the Royal Palace and avoid the lines. I don't want to book a tour of the city or other things with it....just the palace.

you do not need tickets online. there were no lines. not even for the ladies room, which had a total of two toilets.

I went to the Palacio Real on a Tuesday in mid-March of 2015. I don't remember significant lines, but there were quite a lot of people around and clots of people that held me up a bit as I was moving through the palace. I wouldn't want to guarantee no lines, especially on or around local holidays. It was my impression that a lot of the visitors were locals.
