Royal Alcazar Advance Tickets

We will be in Seville on Wednesday August 27th, and were thinking of going to the Royal Alcazar. Is an advance ticket purchase really necessary? I'm thinking that we'd like the flexibility to decide when/whether to go there on that day. It does not really look like tickets are selling out.

I would recommend an advance online purchase if you also want to visit the Royal Chambers within the Alcazar. There is an additional fee of 5.5 euros in addition to the general admission fee to do so and those tickets do sell out online. When I bought my tickets online for both , I booked a few months in advance and there was only one ticket left for the day so my husband and daughter couldn't go in.

Thanks. I don't think we care about seeing the royal chambers (might depend on how much time we have on the day we visit). Not sure if I should start another thread, but I'm wondering the same thing for the royal palace in Madrid? I have timed entry tickets for the Alcazar and Sagrada Familia, but I was hoping to be a little looser than I normally am when traveling since I'm traveling with our adult kids and want to give them some flexibility to not do tourist stuff if they don't want to.

In addition to the possibility of it selling out, I believe you end up standing in a long line in the hot sun to buy tickets.

If you go to the website (https://realalcazarsevilla.cliqueo.es/es/patronato-del-real-alcazar-de-sevilla/visita-real-alcazar-de-sevilla/), you can see how many tickets are available for each timeslot. So if you wait, you can check again as the date approaches, and if it seems they are close to selling out, you can buy them online.

For tomorrow there are no tickets left for the morning. The earliest available timeslot is 11:30 (just 3 tickets left). From noon on there is plenty of availability. Just to give you an idea of what to expect.

Oh, and regarding the Royal Palace in Madrid, I was there in early May and there were no same-day or next-day tickets available at all.

You should purchase the Royal Alcazar tickets in advance. We were there in February and had purchased tickets with a 10 am Royal Apartments tour. We got there around 9:40 and there was a very long line of ticket holders. We went to the front (I was afraid we'd miss the tour) and they let us in right away, telling us where to go for the tour. The tour was interesting and It was worth getting just to avoid the line! In Madrid, I'd also pre-purchased tickets for the Royal Palace of Madrid. The ticket line there wasn't very long but it still saved us at least 15 minutes.
