Is it better to spend 1 night in Ronda (in between Granada and Lagos, Portugal), or make Ronda a day trip from Granada?
We would really like to visit Ronda, which Rick recommends seeing after the day-trippers leave...but, maybe it is more convenient as a day trip from Granada?
Currently, we have two full days plus a half day scheduled in Granada. The rest of that half day would be in Ronda. The next day, we travel to Lagos in Portugal.

How is the journey to Lagos planned ? It sounds as if you are driving.
I would overnight in Ronda and then continue on the following day into Portugal.
Otherwise you are just backtracking and wasting time.

I'd suggest one night in Ronda if possible. That will give you a chance to explore a bit in the evening, when it's not as crowded.
Not an effective day trip from Granada so go with the one night stand.
Agree...one night stand. And check specials (especially if you are a senior and would quality for the Golden Days rate) at the Parador (which has incredible views from many rooms).
I would echo Mary. We stayed at the Parador in May. It 's centrally located and has amazing views.
