Some time has passed since the last positing on the question: what is best way to get from Rome to Pompei. Since there might be some some changes to the rail systems & etc. I am asking this question again. In April, I plan on traveling from Rome to Pompei. Which is the most convenient & quickest way? Ron
Nope, nothing has change. The old answer is as good as a new one. Fast train to Naples and the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii. The Circ.. is the local commuter train on the lower level of the Naples station. Down the stairs, turn left, walk a hundred yards or so. And the question should have been posted in the Italy section and not Spain since I assume you know that Rome is in Italy but the answer is the same.
Just backing up Frank here: fast train to Naples, and the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii. I don't expect that'll change any time in the foreseeable future.
I mistakenly thought that I was on the Italy Tab. I should have double checked before I clicked enter.
but thank you so much for your replies, much appreciated!!!
That's Italy—this is the Spain forum, no?
Lana, see post No. 3
caron3, if you are traveling from Rome to Pompeii, and find yourself here in Spain, I'm afraid that somewhere along the way, you took a wrong turn. (:->)))
