My wife and leave Sunday for two weeks in Spain with visits to Sevilla and Cordoba. We will be in Sevilla for 4 days and Cordoba for 2 days. The official sites for both the Sevilla Cathedral and the Cordoba Mezquita show great availability for tickets. Do I really need to make reservations for these places - flexibility on the ground would be nice. But I can reserve a time right now if I need to do so.
I'll be visiting both of those sights next month and already bought my tickets. I don't like to leave those things to chance if it's a "must see" for me. And when i was buying tickets, the number of available tickets remaining was lower than i would have expected for March. For one of the museums in Madrid, the timeslot i wanted was already sold out.
So, if you want to wait, keep checking on the number of available tickets. If they remain high, you are probably safe to wait. If you notice the numbers getting smaller, you may want to buy.
I just bought tickets for the Seville Cathedral for about 2 weeks from now. A few time slots were very limited, but most had >50 tickets available, so I think it depends on the time you want to be there.
If I were you, I'd check the official websites to get a sense for how much availability there is for the days you plan to be there.
Thank you - I think I'll go ahead and reserve just to be safe.
Just a note on the Seville cathedral. My card was rejected on my initial attempt to purchase. I tried again a few days later and it went through with no problems. Hopefully you won’t have any issues, but if do, just try again another day.
I’ll be the contrarian by saying I’ve never purchased an advance ticket to either site. Got to the entrance at opening time and there was only a short line. I do have to say, we last visited Sevilla in 2014.
If pre purchasing gives you piece of mind, by all means, purchase them.
Certainly you can reserve them now, but only if you are certain of your day and times. I have purchased both as I was walking to the sight, for the immediate timeslot. Both venues are large and usually have way more slots than visitors.
The main thing is not to get stuck in the ticket-buying line at the Cathedral. It is usually very long, and it is outdoors, exposed to the weather.
