Anybody done this drive to stop and Ronda along the way? Is it worth it? Where to drop off car on Granada, airport or rail station. Thanks!
We have done this drive, roads are fine and we find plenty to do, but...........
What are you seeking to do?
Ronda, for us, is a minimum 1/2 day visit so driving from Seville to Ronda is under two hours and driving Ronda to Granada is three hours. Point is if you desire to go from Seville to Granada and take a day doing it then it can be an interesting drive. If...... You enjoy discovering out of way places.
Shop around for the car rental. Pre-booking for one day can cost as much as three days, for instance through Auto Europe, so maybe you'd "meander" al little longer, if you have time.
And be sure to obtain your IDP which is required by law.
You may not want to drop off at the airport. It is outside the city and requires a further 25 minute bus or taxi ride, but maybe that is preferable to city traffic for you.
Drop the car at the train station. I drove to my hotel first and dropped my luggage. It was an easy walk back to the hotel afterward. If you only want a one-day trip, it's probably not worth it. If you have more time, it's very nice to drive through the hills and the pueblos blancos. Antequera is a lovely town between Ronda (or Seville) and Granada. I very much liked both Ronda and Antequera.
